The DSD Kindergarten caters for children between the ages of 3 – 6 years. It offers a comprehensive learning programme in German. Our qualified teachers ensure that the children’s cognitive, emotional and motor skills are developed and fostered through carefully planned activities.
The programme is organised around interesting themes and includes creative activities, singing, numerical and language-related group activities, play and physical exercise. Language development is of great importance in this age group, as most of our children come from homes where German may not be their first or main language.
Our highly experienced teachers make use of a tried and tested pre-school curriculum, which enables all children to acquire and develop the necessary German language skills so that they can hold their own in Grade R when German is the language of instruction.
Please note: Children with no prior knowledge of German must be enrolled in the Kindergarten from as young an age as possible so that they can learn German before entering Grade R.
