OUR NEW TODDLER GROUP

We are opening our first Toddler Group!

Starting January 2018, children as young as 18 months can start their school career at the Deutsche Schule Durban!

This is a great age for children to playfully and easily pick up another language, in this case German. Here at the Deutsche Schule Durban we believe that multilingualism is an important  part of an education towards a global future.

Fees

Fees will be similar to those of the current Kindergarten. Please find more information about the fees/ transport costs etc. under the following link:

MUSICAL – MATS UND DIE WUNDERSTEINE

Last week the DSD children presented their lovely musical “Mats und die Wundersteine.” After weeks of rehearsals and big excitement, they delivered a wonderful performance! We’d like to express our gratitude to our enthusiastic music and orchestra teachers, Nina Alborough and Marianne von Delft.

HERMANNSBURG OLYMPIADE

And once again the Deutsche Schule Durban is proud of the sports achievements of its learners! At the Hermannsburg Olympiad last week we competed against the other German schools in KwaZulu-Natal and did very well. Overall, the DSD won first prize in swimming, football and cricket and also the Victor and Victrix Ludorum for the best of grade 7 went to DSD learners, Felix Kroeber and Melanie Cooke. Congratulations!

FASCHING – CARNIVAL

On Tuesday the Deutsche Schule Durban was filled with excited children in imaginative costumes. We all had a wonderful morning watching the children parade through the hall, eating pancakes and playing games.

SWIMMING GALA

Last Friday we had our annual DSD Swimming Gala and it was once again a great success, this time fortunately without too much rain. The children had great fun cheering on their respective house and performed impressively.
