Last Friday, 23 February, the Kainon Primary School pool was buzzing with excitement for the Schwimmfest! Our DSD families and friends came together in a spectacular show of support. A huge round of applause for House Moritz for clinching victory once again at this year’s event. A heartfelt thank you to our sports coaches and teachers and our Grade 3 and Grade 5 parents who provided refreshments on the evening. Your commitment made this day unforgettable. Your efforts do not go unnoticed!
Special accolades to our standout swimmers:
Mahiya Bhowani-Justin for making remarkable progress this year. Your improvement is astounding!
Michaelah Dray, our Junior Victrix Ludorum, showcasing exceptional talent.
Oswald Wichmann, awarded the Junior Victor Ludorum trophy.
Nia du Plessis, our esteemed Senior Victrix Ludorum. Your performance was nothing short of spectacular.
And Daniel Hill, our Senior Victor Ludorum, who not only excelled but also broke two records: the 50m freestyle previously held by A Schroeder since 2023, and the 50m backstroke previously held by M Windisch since 1989. Your dedication and hard work have truly paid off!
The evening concluded with a classic traditional showdown: the question lingering – would Herr Deppe take the plunge first, or would the bold Grade 7 class be the ones to push him in? Congratulations to all our winners, keep on swimming!
